Hi everyone. Today we are going to introduce the first project created by our new Guest Designer – Sasha. Before we do, read some she told us about herself.
Hello P13 fans, my name is Sasha Novak. I live in Virginia, USA with my husband and our two beautiful kids. I’ve been with scrapbooking for almost 5 years now, and like most moms, I started scrapping because I wanted to create a beautiful album to keep the most important and warmest memories of my children. I enjoyed the process so much that scrapbooking became more than just a hobby for me. Since then, I’ve tried different styles and techniques until I found what I like the most. I usually create projects with interesting and complex compositions and use lots of different materials in my work. Sometimes I like to play with different shapes and mixed media to make my work even more interesting.
Today I am happy to share my home decor piece I made using the loveliest „Birdhouse” collection. A few months ago, I bought a simple wooden house shaped piece for home decor and when I saw the Birdhouse collection I realized it would be perfect for altering. I like altering simple home decor pieces using scrapbooking supplies and turning them into something special. In the case of this project, I added LED lights inside the house so it can be used as a night light, if desired. I had so much fun fussy cutting all the elements from this collection and layering them, inside and outside the house, creating a vibrant 3D composition. I love that this collection has lots of different flowers and leaves elements, which were perfect for building a nest for the birds. Something different that I’ve done with this project is that I colored one of the chipboard birds with acrylic paint so that it matches with the color palette. I am used to covering my chipboard with embossing powder and was surprised how nice it turned out when using acrylic paint. I enjoyed working on this project and excited to add it to my shelf, and hope it will inspire you to create something similar.
Cześć wszystkim. Dzisiaj chcielibyśmy przedstawić pierwszy projekt stworzony przez naszą nową projektantkę gościnną – Sashę. Zanim to zrobimy, przeczytajmy to, co nam o sobie powiedziała.
