Ho ho ho! Hello December! And no, I am not lost in time and space at all. I am currently preparing for the December in July project. Haven’t heard of it? So sit down comfortably with a cup of coffee, tea, and I am telling the story.
If you’ve read my previous articles, you know that being systematic is not my thing. I’m always behind on projects e.g.still completing my 2019 travel journals. December Daily is no exception. I planned, I promised myself to be up to date, I took photos. Unfortunately, at the end of December, I was left with ready photos and not a single page of the album.
You must know one more thing about me. I love December! Lights, gifts, decorations, Christmas songs, and movies. I start watching the latter during the first autumn gray light and I sometimes turn on Christmas songs in August. I’m a Christmas nut and I’m fine with that.
The December in July project was born for people like me (and I believe there are more of us). It consists in replenishing the December Daily in July. Perfect to catch up on an overdue project and at the same time feel a bit of Christmas in the middle of summer. Additional mobilization for me is two new P13 collections – Cosy Winter and Sugar&Spice. Both, together with accessories, are the perfect base for winter and holiday work.
My idea for December 2020 is to document one topic a day, not necessarily what happened on that day. I will put everything in a 6×8 inch binder. Did I make you curious? I cordially invite you to instagram profiles – mine and p13. Throughout July, we will publish the next days from my December Daily. Keep your fingers crossed for me to persevere in this ambitious plan.
And today I am presenting the title page of my album. I used the Cozy Winter collection – 6×6 paper pad, maxi creative pad, stickers and a label. I really like three-dimensionality in my spreads, that’s why I bent the stripes torn off the sheets so that they 'come out’ from the page. Combining this effect with a few paper patterns made the whole thing very busy, so I didn’t want to add anything other than the title tag. I am very pleased with the final result, hope I do well with the following pages.
Maybe you too will join the December in July project? Be sure to let us know on Instagram!
