Do you ever create scrapbook pages or projects using photos you did not take? I do! For this scrapbook page I used a very old photo I found online (courtesy of the State Archives of Florida-no photographer listed) of the Key West, Florida lighthouse shortly after it was built. Key West is one of my favorite places and I really enjoy the history of it, so I thought it would be fun to do a page about one of its most renowned landmarks.
The beautiful and versatile Sea la Vie collection couldn’t be more perfect for a page about a lighthouse. I started with the 12×12 paper pad and selected paper for my background and for the strips of paper running down the left side. From the 6×6 paper pad I chose papers to mat my photo and even used a piece of packaging for that solid blue paper! I love when you can also use a products packaging and be more sustainable.
Once I had all the papers selected I decided to make a small shaker out of the bottle shaped light chipboard. I ink blended the pieces with Distress Oxide, added some random sequins from my stash and glued it all together using one of the 3×4 cut-apart cards as the background. Once the bottle was all put together, I added some Hero Arts “Sand” embossing power to the bottom of it.
For completing the rest of the page I used several pieces from various Decorative Tags sets, Ephemera Bits & Pieces, cut-aparts from the 12×12 paper pad, more Light Chipboard pieces, some Paper Flowers and a few pieces from the Chipboard Sticker Sheet. I sprinkled a few flat backed pearls from my stash on the page and it was finished!
One of my favorite things about the P13 collections is that you have so many options to choose from. I love that there is chipboard and stickers and cut-aparts and ephemera and so on. There is no shortage of beautiful elements to use on any project. So challenge yourself! Go out there and find a photo that you didn’t take and create a project with it and some beautiful pieces by P13! Just be sure to credit the photo source if you share it online!
