Today I would like to show you my first inspiration for Piątek Trzynastego – a blooming house. I bought this wooden house few weeks ago and I had an idea what I will do with it in the same moment, what is a little unusual for me. As you can notice I treated it like a background of layout or canvas. I created a composition with a photo on it with using papers and other embellishments like die cuts, stickers, flowers and flags. I thought it would be really nice gift for my friend (whom you can see on the picture), because she moves into a new apartment soon.
At the beginning of my work I covered very carefully all surfaces of a house with gesso. I did it twice. Next I started to create my composition. As you can see my base composition is very simple – just few stripes of papers. That’s better way, if we would like add a lot of embellishments and another elements like die cuts. Honestly, I’m not very big fan of cutting elements from papers. I’m too much impatient and usually I give it up. But not this time.
Papers and elements to cut from new collections of Piątek Trzynastego are too beautiful and it’s really worth it to do it, even if you don’t like it. I don’t regret! Pay attention also to papers number 01 and 04 from Hello Beautiful collection. Thanks to black color those papers helped me to add some more contrast to my work and avoid a chaos, what happens often, if you don’t balance it. I also really love a combo of black, white, pink and green colors! It looks really awesome, doesn’t it? I hestitated for a long time whether to add another color to my work, but finally I decided to do it. Without yellow my work was more delicate and romantic but I was so curious how it willl look in this connection. And here the result of my work:
