I created the first card thinking about my husband’s niece’s birthday. This month It’ s going to be her first birthday. She is a wonderfully cheerful and lovely child. And I can say that I can not imagine another birthday card for her than the one I show you.
The Piątek 13 collections complement each other perfectly. The colors correspond perfectly with each other, that’s why I could choose the pink paper from the Hello Beautiful collection for the background. The next layer is a die cut shape, adhered using a double-sided adhesive tape with foam to create a three-dimentional effect. As you can see at the top of the page there is a garland with the word GIRL. These letters are stickers from the collection Little girl. I adhered the letters on a string and on 3d cubes so they stand out from the background.
At the bottom I also used a sticker with the text „Such a big miracle in a little girl”. This phrase seems to me very suitable for children’s cards, because for parents and the family there is no greater miracle than the delightful little baby. I also build a scene using illustrations from sheet for fussy cutting.
Actually, I did not plan to do a second card, but making the first was such a pleasure that it was hard not to do another one. The card is in almost identical colors. However, when I was creating this card, I was thinking about an older girl, rather a teenager.
The first layer of paper is a part of the Hello Beautiful collection, glued on the panel. I adhered the next two layers using a double-sided adhesive tape with foam to build the composition up and create a three-dimentional effect.
To make a floral-feather composition I used beautiful elements to fussy cutting from a sheet from the Cute & Co collection, which I adhered in layers on 3d cubes. Purple flowers from a free extras, slightly varied the color of my card.
For the focal point I chose the sticker from the collection Little girl with the word BRAVE. Of course, I could choose other one because there are quite a lot of them on the sheet. But the feathers reminded me of the character from the fairy tale „Brave”. I thought that this is a good, strong word for the wishes for a young girl entering the adult world.
I finished both of my cards with white liquid drops. I like this kind of subtle additions, it adds a bit of contrast, and also highlights the elements and edges of the paper.
